How a drone inspection works
Building professionals, contractors and building inspectors use a small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), aka a “drone” to inspect roofs today. These drones offer safety, speed and detailed images for reliable information.
The drone allows the inspector to examine the status of roof materials, gutters, downspouts, vents, flashings, skylights, chimneys, and other roof penetrations while simultaneously capturing high-definition photos and videos.
Why use drones for roof inspections?

They can also access and photograph hard-to-reach areas of a roof that would be time-consuming and expensive for you to get to yourself.

The better drones will save you a lot more time. They output hi res photos that catch the detail you need and can offer rock solid pictures in high wind.
The use of drones for commercial use falls under the authority of the Federal Aviation Administration (the FAA), and they take drones seriously. The drone pilot must have a current Part 107 Certificate to legally fly. You ALWAYS want to ask for their Part 107 certificate to be sure. It is required and can face fines for commercial work without the proper license.
